Jenna Gray Benett
Jenna is a loan officer who is a part of the “Brand Lab” here at Rate — a program where loan officers can get personalized social media content made by us. I have had the pleasure of working with Jenna on various forms of short form content, including these examples presented here. Jenna has shot content at her home as well as flown into corporate for professional shoots, and all her content is designed to follow minimalistic and sleek brand guidelines. With a lot of Jenna’s videos, particularly her more educational and instructional content, I enjoy designing simple motion graphics to illustrate her points in fun and humorous ways, and to engage audiences on social with limited attention spans. Jenna’s content here at Rate is one of my favorite ongoing social projects to work on!
Owning
Owning is a subsidary brand of Rate, and I also get the opportunity to work on social content for them as well as a full-time video editor at Rate. Under the guidance of Owning’s creative directors, I edit Owning’s professionally studio shot social content for platforms like Instagram and TikTok, making use of the minimalistic content design philosophy to create eye-catching video content without overwhelming the viewer. Owning’s content identity is largely focused around presenting a strong element of ethos, and assuring the viewer that the speaker is well-versed in the relevant subjects and that Owning is a brand that can be trusted.
Jim Jefferson
Jim is another one of our clients at Rate’s Brand Lab. We approached Jim’s content similarly to Jenna’s, but with a few key differences. Jim has opted for a more “masculine” tone with higher contrast lighting, and we made use of handheld-shot side angles to diversify and energize the video. Jim’s content is slick, dynamic, professional, and to-the-point, and was a lot of fun to get to work on.
Joe Vicich
Not all clients at the Brand Lab are looking for the same things — while clients like Jenna and Jeff are looking for fully-scripted, high quality, 90 second pieces of content, clients like Joe Vicich might only be looking for shorter pieces without all the “fluff”. Joe was simply looking for a fun, exciting way to announce his arrival at Rate in a few different formats, and that’s exactly what we accomplished. With Joe’s content, it was all about highlighting his fun personality, even if that meant including what would normally be called bloopers!
Guaranteed Rate’s Language Access Program
The team on the Language Access Program at Rate came to our video production team looking for high quality social content to increase the awareness of and to highlight the program. What we did was a shoot a full podcast-style conversation, and then chopped it into 90-second or less social clips that could be used on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Two different captioning styles can be seen in the examples I provided here — one that’s more “trendy” and eye-catching, and another that’s a bit more professional and minimalist.
Rate App Podcast Promos
Similarly to the Language Access Program promos, we also shot full podcast-style conversations with loan officers designed to promote the Rate app — an application free to everyone featuring personal and financial wellness tools.
Break The Bank Fundraiser
Working with nonprofit organizations is one of my favorite things to do — it feels amazing to work on projects that really make a difference. I was thrilled to help promote Rate’s Break The Bank fundraiser: an event to help raise money for veterans that spotlights several organizations dedicated to that mission.
Devontae Brooks
Devontae is another one of our loan officers at Rate that we work with to develop social content for. Devonate has a wonderful personality and is one of my favorites to edit for.
